93% of KS2 children took part in inter-school sporting activity in 2021-2022!
At Canon Pyon CE Academy, we are proud to offer our children a range of extra-curricular sporting activities, delivered by both school staff and sporting specialists. We recognise the value of sport in helping develop a range of skills, both on and off the field, and look to instil the values of good sportsmanship, teamwork and leadership.
All children are encouraged and facilitated to participate, whether for fun, fitness, competition or just to try something new!

A great day with our friends from across the Orchard Partnership to allow our Year 6s to meet children going to the same high school as them, learn new skills and have a lot a fun! Paid for using Sports Premium.

Our boys made it all the way to the semi-finals but unfortunately got knocked out on penalties! Super teamwork and sportsmanship throughout - well done!

LKS2 Football Tournament - 12.05.2022
Two wins, two draws and two losses - a brilliant result against much larger and more experienced teams. Fantastic team spirit and encouragement was displayed by all. Well done!
UKS2 Small Schools' Football Tournament - 10.02.2022
Our UKS2 football team performed fantastically! They won one, lost one and drew game, showing wonderful teamwork and sportsmanship throughout. Well done!
LKS2 Small Schools' Football Tournament 18.11.2021
Our LKS2 football team performed brilliantly, winning two games, drawing two games and losing one game. They came third overall! Congratulations to all who played.
Hereford City Primary Schools' Football Tournament - 21.10.2021
Our mixed football team did a fantastic job at the tournament - especially as it was the first time they had ever played together! They made it through to the last 16. Well done!
